Hemp Oil vs. Cannabis: Why You Need to Know the Difference

When thinking about Hemp for your dog, you should first understand the difference between marijuana and hemp. Firstly, they both come from the same cannabis sativa plant, however, They have different properties and results.

Medical and Recreational Cannabis – Is a mostly higher THC cannabis plant. The buds, leaves, and resin of the cannabis plant contain a high source of a substance called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This is what results in a psychoactive effect in humans, or in other terms, getting ‘high.’

Hemp – Is also the cannabis plant, however the cannabinoid profile is very different. Hemp plants contain less than .3% tetrahydrocannabinol and is high in a cannabinoid called cannabidiol (CBD). Cannabidiol activated receptor sites in the body’s endocannabinoid system.

Hemp oil is not associated with the “high” of marijuana, otherwise known as the THC.

    1. Hi Tina,

I would recommend looking at this website, https://www.projectcbd.org/

It has tons of good information. CBD is an anti-inflammatory and aids in pain relief. I would recommend our 600mg bottle, it is a about 15mg per dose and contains 30 doses.

Also follow us on Facebook as we continue to post good information.
